A look at some of the important characters in the chaotic universe known as the EdgeWorlds.

THE PENGUIN TRIO

Edgy, Jeff, and Todd form the penguin trio and often cause mayhem in the EdgeWorlds Although its mostly Edgy causing the chaos.

EDGY

Foul-mouthed, short-tempered, morally gray (to put it lightly), heavily armed, and extremely dangerous, Edgy does whatever he wants whenever he wants, ramifications be damned. Restraint and mercy are foreign concepts to him. Edgy makes a living being a bounty hunter and mercenary and often works for and with Edge Lord Hylus and his organization. Edgy’s impulsive and abrasive nature often gets him into trouble. It causes him to clash with Hylus and others that do not appreciate his chaotic nature. Edgy has little regard for rules or any form of order. Edgy pilots the starship Vermillion across the shattered cosmos, looking for work that usually involves blowing things up. His only real friends are Jeff and Todd, two penguins he has known since childhood; they all grew up in the same orphanage. Rather than calling a specific planet home, Edgy, Jeff, and Todd call the ship their home.

TODD

An extremely introverted turbo dork. Todd suffers from agoraphobia, rarely leaves the ship or his room, and spends most of his time binging anime he’s procured from interdimensional traders. Todd is usually the verbal punching bag of the group, and neither Edgy nor Jeff hesitate to make fun of him. While Todd is terrible with firearms and combat, he makes up for it by operating the Vermillion’s systems and feeding relevant data to Edgy. While often horrified by some of Edgy’s actions, Todd sticks by his friend, even to his detriment.

JEFF

A good-for-nothing pothead freeloader. Jeff spends most of his time on the ship getting high, listening to and collecting music albums and records, drinking, eating up all the food, gaming, or growing psychoactive plants in his room to sell to others. Unlike Todd, Jeff will go outside, usually to nightclubs or casinos, when the Vermillion is docked somewhere. Gambling often gets Jeff in trouble with others, including Edgy. Jeff is usually calm and easygoing even when he does something incredibly stupid or inconveniences others. Jeff likes to think of himself as a player, but his track record with women is somehow worse than Edgy’s.

MEMBERS OF SHARD

Shard is an organization run by five individuals known as the Edge Lords. They and their armies seek to gain or maintain their power in the EdgeWorlds and often clash with an organization called Union that attempts to take control and bring order.

EDGE LORD HYLUS

One of the Edge Lords running Shard. Hylus rules from a ruined planet called Exaal and is a fierce warrior that relies on a shield and sword instead of guns. Hylus wishes to be a hands-off guardian to the EdgeWorlds that only steps in when a powerful force threatens stability. Hylus employs and often clashes with Edgy as the ill-tempered bird regularly goes off the deep end. No one knows what Hylus looks like beneath his magic-resistant armor or how old he is. Based on his manner of speaking and his knowledge of Exaal, it’s speculated that he is incredibly old. While somewhat patient, Hylus’ fury is not to be trifled with.

OTHERS

There are many characters not directly affiliated with any group in the EdgeWorlds, many have their own agendas and ideologies.

MEEKA 2-27

Meeka is an advanced combat android developed by an AI called Queen from the planet Mechanicron. Despite being a combat android, Meeka is a massive dork (although she adamantly denies it) and has an unhealthy obsession with comic books, video games, action figures, and anything relating to super heroes. Traveling with her AI creator and a trusted mechanic named Nyarla, Meeka seeks to emulate the fictional heroes she idolizes by flying around the EdgeWorlds as a bounty hunter saving those in need, usually without requesting or accepting payment.
